I have visited Goa twice and got to stay at two of it’s properties TAJ Exotica and TAJ Vivanta Panaji! Needless to say both my stays are still so fresh in my memories which keeps on pushing me for more such visits. Taj is just not a hotel but a history! Taj reminds us of many things the Tatas, its proud establishment during British Raj Era and also a painful one of 26/11 when TAJ mumbai was attacked and we still hear the dedication of the staff that time who risked their own lives to safeguard the guests. And this is what Taj holds and set it apart from other luxurious properties. It’s very much indian and it’s very much part of our history. Lingering onto the TAJ properties till your mind and soul doesn’t refreshes completely is a kind of experience. And here we are talking about TAj in GOA! Man! Do we call such things lethal combinations? Well you really get to stay there by yourself to decide and as far as I am concerned I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and going to share my experience with you all.

TAJ VIVANTA PANAJI

It is situated at the the heart of the city at Bandodkar road very near to River Mandovi. And we all visit Goa for mostly pleasure but if work is in your mind then I don’t think any hotel can serve you better than TAJ Vivanta Panaji. It is centrally located and excellent for business meetings and then after your meetings you can head directly to Baga beach which is like at a distance of 20 minute from there. Then you can also visit ‘The Kala Academy’ which is the centre of Goan art and culture at a distance of 5 minute or go shop the famous Goan Cashews into the main market just round the corner or you can totally plan a night into the casino nearby just after the dinner in Taj vivanta itself. I am sharing few of the pictures during my stay.

The rooms are spacious and provide you lot of space and facilities to continue with your work. Like you can totally move your curtains aside and take a peek into the hustling bustling road while working on your Ipad.

This is one of the four restaurants that Taj Vivanta has to offer to you. I had a lavish breakfast and lunches there. They make sure to cater everybody needs through their buffets from south indians to north indians or from vegetarians to non vegetarians.The burger is from my fond memory of 2 AM orders which I did while enjoying all those free movie Dvds throughout the night and then to get up late next day only to lunch and head straight to the pool.

This is the reception area where you can book your rooms, talk about all your problems and click few pictures too.

As you can see the eye catching and distinctive architecture of the building…What more it is at the middle of the city! Even if you stay at another hotel and get to find a local Goan mulgi then you can totally take her to this for a cup of coffee at cafe bistro and leave an everlasting impression.

These are original wild lilies and one of the lighting arrangements. The Pictures are not justifying the aura these decors create.

One click among those numerous corridors and one of those flower arrangements there.

The swimming pool at the terrace is the best feature that Taj Vivanta has to offer to you. These stairs lead you directly to the open pool area at the terrace and also to the Taj Spa,Salon , Gym and Sauna area too. I had a wonderful haircut there at the TAJ Salon and I truly felt so privileged. And it was good. The guy could talk for hour and declared that he is so happy working there as hair stylist. His face was literally beaming with happiness.

This is the beauty of staying at TAJ Vivanta Panaji. You can spend hours and hours there. Swimming and enjoying jacuzzi under the basking sunshine and a wonderful view. Then once you give up and feel that you can’t swim anymore then enter into one of those very unique and personal setups and lie down onto those pool chairs and nibble few free snacks offered to you.

No doubt it is one of the finest properties in Panaji and you can totally stay there for a surreal experience only to feel pampered and energised. Don’t forget to thank the warm and hospitable staff  there too.

The Cons

The Wifi is free only upto two devices.

They give you your room card which provide you access to your floor only and limits you to roam around at other floors which s good if we consider security.

The sea side view which is available at other Taj properties at Goa is missing. But I guess that’s okay if you’re on work. For leisure you can always stay at TAJ fort Aguada or Taj exotica.
