What is it about our handsome men in uniform that make women folk swoon over them? The movies like ‘Lakshya’ or ‘Jab Tak hai Jaan’ increased the female fan following of Hrithik Roshan and Shahrukh Khan in uniform more than ever. All those Oohs and Ufffs by women there in the movie halls confirmed the age old lust for the knight in shining armour is not a myth. There is a reason behind the roles of handsome Army Officer or Naval Officer or an Airforce officer played by Bollywood superstars. Be it Army, Navy or Air force the men in uniform are always able to woo the girls quite easily.
The question has always been there that what makes men in uniform so desirable?
I posted a question on my Facebook profile that ” What makes women fall for men in uniform?” and I got very interesting answers that included answers from Army officers themselves and many girls. I am sharing some of the interesting views.
Blogger Aarti said that “ Army Officers look very caring.” and author Shuchi Singh Kalra said “ More than anything else it’s the personality of an Army Officer. Men in Uniform are polished and a class apart”
This explains a lot about their undisputed charm that comes naturally from their distinguished personality but is it the sole reason?
One of the girl who is about to be married to an Infantry man soon on conditions of being anonymous said ” A soldier’s job demands courtesy towards women and it make them very attractive. He has told me that they are taught to be chivalrous and courteous especially towards women.”
It is true too. All the armed force officers make a good impression as soon as you meet them. The impeccable manners and etiquettes are charming enough to bowl down any woman and catch their attention.
A knight in shining armour does not look like a myth when you see an officer in uniform be it Army, Navy or Airforce.
Apart From chivalry and etiquette the officers are also fun and sporty in nature and it’s natural for them to be adventurous in nature. Unlike popular perception they are more open towards women rights and freedom. They hardly ever try to shackle their girls within limitations. In fact many officers can be seen taking adventurous treks or river rafting or any such thrilling activities with their girl.
And surely when your partner is the master of the art then you don’t need to fear anything.
Another lady Kanupriya Bazaz who is a proud divorcee and social activist says “more than anything else it is the respect and honour that a wife gets from her man in uniform and it make them very attractive and women willingly fall for them.”
Dr. Kumud Kumar who is a psychologist based in Delhi says “men in uniform possess authority and responsibility. This aura of protectiveness and command is very appealing to any type of women.”
Women look for a certain amount of dependability and stability into any relationship and men in uniform readily fulfill that.
These gorgeous men in uniform got character too. Unlike their casanova or playboy image most officers are true to their words and commitments. Most relationship fail because the female partner is not able to carry out other Army life challenges and separations and duties that comes being an army girlfriend or army wife .
After all they are educated and trained into one of the world’s most prestigious institutes
And yes the overall pride that will sweep you over is overwhelming when you see him in uniform and realise he wears it to protect you and your nation.
And where to find an army officer?
Well easily around the cantonments area, golf clubs. Army polo or riding clubs. And if you have resourceful friend then get yourself invited to glamourous army ball dance parties . Then if you happen to be in Mumbai then Naval Nagar near Colaba Causeway is a very happening area. Apart from Army Officers there can be seen many naval officers around naval dockyard. Ans yes there is no doubt about that they lead an extremely glamourous life 
Falling in love with an army man is the easiest thing to do what is tough is to maintain that grace of the army uniform and share the responsibilities along with your man in uniform. Taking pride into your man in uniform comes naturally but managing the separations and behave which suits the silent ranks of army wives and army girlfriends is tough.
So think twice before you fall for a military man and once you do there is no turning back. You are never gonna like anyone without the uniform. So hold onto it tight and learn to fit into the shoes of an Army Girl!
